So true Maggi! Thanks for changing the perspective!

I find it very frustrating when people blame God for sending suffering: I have had a huge amount (and still do in the form of health issues). But God has been faithful and has brought me thus far, so I know I can trust Him to see me through and stand with me in my struggles!

When I was a young Christian and struggling I remember people saying things like 'Well praise God anyway' I wanted to say 'What for? he's not helping me'... God hates lies and pretending your fine when your not ... I'm not sure he can help us if we aren't being real. You are totally right Maggie God doesn't test us, life tests us and it's often way more than we can cope with.

One of my favorites from Charlie Mackesy reads:

‘What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said?’ Asked the boy.

‘Help’ said the horse.

Yes ... 'Help' is the point of all our prayers. Crying out for help is the only prayer that works. It is the key that unlocks the windows of heaven that separates us from the tailor made blessings that our heavenly father has stored there for us. We respond to our kids pleas for help immediately with out reflection it's parental instinct and our heavenly father is already responding as we fall to our knees and before our knees touch the ground the windows swing open. Chronicles 7v14 'if my people etc' It's when we realise that we can't cope that we've spent all our own resources and nothing worked and we finally let go of our pride and cry out that miracles happen. In a very dark period of my life here in France I asked Jesus why he led me away from my 'successful' life in the UK to live in the least populated place imaginable in Europe he said 'to keep you safe' that's all he wants for us and wherever that place is for you is where he will lead you. He will even let us fail in order to get us to that safe place.
